Wildfires have been devastating large parts of Los Angeles since January 7, destroying homes, lives, and livelihoods. Our hearts go out to the Jewish community who have lost personal and communal property, alongside all those who are affected beyond the community. We are contributing to the Wildfires Crisis Relief of the Jewish Federation Los Angeles (JFEDLA), to support those who have been displaced, alongside day camps for children while schools are closed.
Rabbi Dina Brawer visits the Jewish community in Moldova, witnessing the transformative impact that World Jewish Relief’s Employment and Livelihoods programs have on individuals and on the Jewish community at large. Western Afghanistan has been struck by two devastating earthquakes: the first on Saturday 7th October and the second on Wednesday 11th October. So far, over 2,000 people have sadly lost their lives and many more have been injured. This number is expected to rise as the true extent of the damage is realised.
