Devastating wildfires in LA
Wildfires have been devastating large parts of Los Angeles since January 7, destroying homes, lives, and livelihoods. Our hearts go out to the Jewish community who have lost personal and communal property, alongside all those who are affected beyond the community. We are contributing to the Wildfires Crisis Relief of the Jewish Federation Los Angeles (JFEDLA), to support those who have been displaced, alongside day camps for children while schools are closed.
Freezing Cold. In Darkness. Alone.
This winter will be harder than ever for Ukrainians. No heating, no power, and no hope as the war rages on. With temperatures dropping to minus 4 degrees, constant shelling and drone attacks have left older Jewish people alone in their homes, freezing, in pitch-black darkness, unable to cook food or keep their vital medications cold. Rolling blackouts leave them disconnected from the outside world, chilled to the bone, and terrified.

People in Israel and Ukraine are experiencing immense suffering and pain.
In both countries, people face extraordinary challenges: the loss of loved ones, or the fear of losing them; family fighting on the front lines; the disruption of schooling; terrifying nightly air raids; displacement from homes…
But you can help them today.

Visiting the Jewish Community in Moldova
Rabbi Dina Brawer visits the Jewish community in Moldova, witnessing the transformative impact that World Jewish Relief’s Employment and Livelihoods programs have on individuals and on the Jewish community at large. While providing job-specific skills training and mentorship so that individuals are empowered to grow their economic opportunities, the program not only fosters a sense of Jewish community for isolated individuals, but also facilitates the development of infrastructure which is key to Jewish education, socializing and bonding.
