We are incredibly proud to share that our Chief Executive, Paul Anticoni, has been awarded an OBE for services to vulnerable people by our Patron, His Majesty the King, in the King’s Birthday Honor List.
Paul is now, therefore, an Officer of the Order of the British Empire – one of the highest honors given in the United Kingdom.
In his 19 years leading World Jewish Relief, Paul has grown the organization and its impact exponentially. Now working in 21 countries and supporting more than 140,000 people in the last year alone, World Jewish Relief, under Paul’s leadership, is leading humanitarian efforts on behalf of the Jewish community.
In Ukraine, where World Jewish Relief has worked for many years, Paul has led the charity’s efforts to support our partners and clients survive the horrors of war and start to rebuild their lives.
Closer to home, Paul and his team have spearheaded vital support for refugees in the UK, just as the Charity originally supported countless Jewish families escaping the horrors of Nazi Europe. World Jewish Relief is now a leading provider of refugee language and employment services, supporting refugees and their families to build lives and livelihoods in the UK, and building relationships between people of different religions and backgrounds.
Maurice Helfgott, Chair, World Jewish Relief said: “Paul leads our organization with immense professionalism, as well as with kindness, humor, and humility. This Honor recognizes the immense passion and dedication with which he has led World Jewish Relief, always prioritizing the hundreds of thousands of people across the world who receive our support. It also reflects the continued generosity and commitment of our amazing supporters, without whom – he would be the first to say – none of our work would be possible.”
Please join us in congratulating Paul on this well-deserved honor.
